Food Should Not Feel This Complicated

You may know what to eat. You have read the books, followed the plans, and tried to apply them in everyday life. But food still feels complicated, and the mental load around eating does not go away.

Individualized nutrition counselling supports adults, families and children who feel stuck in cycles of cravings, guilt, or confusion around food. Sessions focus on understanding patterns, reducing pressure around eating, and building a peaceful and sustainable relationship with food that fits real life.

This work is collaborative and ongoing, with space to adjust as needs and circumstances change. The focus is on lasting change that feels supportive and realistic.

Areas of expertise

    Food cravings and emotional eating

Food cravings and emotional eating are rarely about discipline or willpower. They are often shaped by unmet physical needs, habits, stress, and biology.

Nutrition counselling supports understanding what is driving cravings and eating patterns that feel out of sync with your intentions. Sessions focus on building awareness, responding to needs with curiosity, and developing skills that feel practical and supportive in everyday life.

The focus is on steady, meaningful change that can be maintained over time and adapted as life evolves.

    Managing food overwhelm

Managing food can feel overwhelming, especially when health concerns overlap with busy schedules and conflicting nutrition advice. Decision fatigue, stress, and pressure around eating can make it difficult to know where to start.

Nutrition counselling supports simplifying nutrition choices, prioritizing what matters most, and building habits that fit everyday life. The focus is on reducing mental load around food and creating structure that feels supportive rather than restrictive.

Care is designed to help clients feel calmer around food and more confident navigating daily choices, even when life feels full.

    Family nutrition

Family nutrition supports a positive and balanced relationship with food across all ages and stages. Feeding a family can be challenging when preferences differ, routines shift, sensory needs are present, and appetites change over time.

Nutrition counselling supports families navigating picky eating, sensory sensitivities, and mealtime stress with practical, realistic guidance. The focus is on reducing pressure around food, building supportive routines, and creating environments where both children and caregivers can feel more at ease.

Attention is also given to how food is talked about and experienced at home, helping caregivers foster a calm and flexible relationship with food that children can grow into over time.

    Intuitive eating

Intuitive eating is an evidence based approach that supports moving away from food rules and external pressures, and toward greater awareness of internal cues, needs, and experiences. It emphasizes flexibility, self trust, and respect for the body.

Nutrition counselling guided by intuitive eating focuses on developing bodily awareness, including recognizing hunger, fullness, satisfaction, and emotional signals related to eating. This work supports greater confidence around food choices while reducing guilt and stress over time.

Care is provided by a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, with an emphasis on developing body trust and responding to internal cues over time.

Our Approach to Nutrition Counselling

Care is grounded in evidence based nutrition support and guided by a weight inclusive, Health at Every Size® approach. Nutrition counselling is offered without dieting or judgment, where goals are guided by health, function, and lived experience rather than weight.

Support is neurodiversity affirming and responsive to individual needs and circumstances. Sessions are compassionate, flexible, and practical, with time to explore patterns, build skills, and adjust strategies as life changes.

The focus is on real food, movement that supports physical and emotional wellbeing, and habits that fit everyday life. Care is designed to reduce pressure around food and support meaningful change over time through consistent ongoing support rather than rigid rules.
